Backlink Studio takes a keyword and a niche, researches who would plausibly link to you, and hands back real pages worth pitching. Nothing comes from a stored link index. The searches run when you start the campaign, so what you read is what ranks today.
Start your first campaign
- Open the Backlinks tab and pick the website the campaign belongs to.
- Enter a target keyword, the term you want to earn links around.
- Enter your niche, which gives the research its context. "SaaS" and "home services" pull very different sites for the same keyword.
- Set the language if it differs from your website default.
Research starts in the background as soon as the campaign is created. You can leave the page and come back to it.
What the research does
Three passes run one after the other:
- Queries — Keupera writes a set of search queries for your keyword and niche, and identifies who your competitors are.
- Live search — those queries run against the live web and the results are scraped.
- Analysis and verification — each result is scored and typed, then visited to confirm the page is up and to pull a contact address off the site.
Reading an opportunity
Every opportunity arrives with the same set of fields:
- Type — the tactic that fits, such as Guest Post, Resource Page, Broken Link, Unlinked Mention or Competitor Backlink.
- Relevance score — how well the site matches your niche, from 0 to 100.
- Domain rating and monthly traffic — what the domain is worth if you land the link.
- Link type — dofollow, nofollow or unknown, so you know before you spend time on the pitch.
- Reasoning — a written explanation of why this particular site would link to you.
Use tags and the status filter to work the list down, and sort by relevance when you want the strongest candidates first.
Working the strategy playbooks
Each campaign also generates strategies written for your niche, sorted by impact against effort. Open one and you get why it works, the steps to run it, what you need to produce, and the metric that tells you it landed. Start with the plays that are high impact and low effort, then work down.
Sending outreach
- Open an opportunity and choose Generate email. Keupera drafts a pitch against that exact page.
- Edit the draft if you want to. Nothing sends on its own.
- Choose Send. The email goes out through your organisation SMTP settings, so it comes from your address.
- The opportunity status moves to outreach sent, and you can update it as replies come in.
Configure SMTP in Settings before your first send, otherwise the send step is unavailable.
Sharing and exporting
- Turn on the public link to let a client read the campaign without an account. The link is view only and you can revoke it at any time.
- Export the opportunity table as CSV or JSON when someone wants the file.
- Drive everything over the public API if you would rather script it.
